Rainniel Estares Marcos, 31, was born in Tarlac City, Philippines. As the first teacher in her family and while growing up in a modest household, she was inspired by her parents’ hard work and dedication to education. From a young age, Rainniel developed a passion for Literature and Language, often dreaming of making a difference in the lives of other people. She pursued her Bachelor’s degree in Arts majoring in English at Tarlac State University, where her academic excellence and innovative ideas set her apart. She also earned 18 units in Bachelor of Science in Education specializing in teaching English for Secondary schools which led her to pass her Philippine Licensure Examination for Teachers in 2015 successfully. With her love of continuous learning, she completed her academic requirements for a Master of Arts in Education majoring in Communication Arts - English.
After two years in the classroom at New Paradigm for Education - DEPSA, Rainniel transitioned as an instructional coach. In this position, she dedicated herself to mentoring fellow educators, particularly those from Filipino backgrounds. Rainniel emphasized the importance of culturally responsive teaching and developed professional learning communities that addressed the unique challenges faced by immigrant teachers, empowering them to thrive in their roles and strengthening their capacity as teachers. Through collaborative sessions with her manager, Ms. Aundrea Johnson, she provided invaluable resources and strategies, fostering a culture of empowerment and collaboration among her peers.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Rainniel enjoys spending time with her family and cherishes the moments they share while in America. She is passionate about helping other Filipinos become certified teachers in the U.S., giving guidance and support as they navigate their new educational landscape.
